School is back in session, and we are pleased to welcome our students, families, teachers, and all employees to the 2026-2027 academic year.  It is our hope that everyone experiences a productive, meaningful, and successful year.

Gardner Park Elementary is recognized across the community for its strong multi-language learning program, designed to support students who speak Spanish. All of our teachers are certified in multi-language instruction, and our program has become a model for other schools looking to create similar opportunities for their students.

Providing care for students at school

Thanks to our partnership with Kintegra Health, we offer a telehealth clinic here at our school. Students, who are experiencing a minor illness or condition, can be seen by a medical provider virtually. This allows us to provide care for students without them having to leave school to go to the doctor.

Labor Day

Monday, September 7 is a holiday for students and employees. All schools and central department offices will be closed on Labor Day.

Board of Education Committee Meetings

The Gaston County Board of Education’s Operations Committee, Curriculum and Instruction Committee, and Policy Committee will meet Monday, September 14 at 12:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m., respectively. The public is invited to attend. 

Ron L. Ensley grants program for teachers

Teachers are encouraged to participate in the Ron L. Ensley grants program. Click here to complete the online application.  The grants are presented by the Gaston County Education Foundation as a way to fund innovative classroom lessons and projects. The application deadline is Sunday, September 14.

Explore Our Multi-language Learning Program

Our teachers provide personalized support for students who speak Spanish or are new to English, helping them build strong skills in both their native language and English.

Gardner Park Elementary provides in-school help for reading and math at all grade levels, with science tutoring available for some students.

Clubs and Activities

We offer a variety of clubs and activities that give students the chance to get involved, build confidence and learn new skills, including Safety Patrol, Student Council, Robotics, Girls on the Run and Bible Club.

Community Support

Gardner Park Elementary enjoys strong community support from local businesses like Tindol Ford, whose generous contributions help enhance school programs and events.

Each year Tindol Subaru sponsors Gardner Park Elementary in the Are You Smarter Than A Gaston County Fifth Grader? competition.
